About yerba mate
What is yerba mate?
Yerba mate is a plant that grows in large parts of South America. The leaves of this plant are dried, and this forms the 'tea' we call mate, although technically it is not really tea, but a drink of its own.
What does yerba mate taste like?
Yerba mate has a distinctive taste described as grassy, smoky and bitter. If you are just starting to drink yerba mate, we recommend adding sugar or honey to the yerba mate to soften the taste.
Which flavor should I choose?
Ultimately, this is of course completely up to you, but we do have a few recommendations. Just like coffee, yerba mate has a special taste that may take some getting used to at first. That's why it's important that you choose the right flavor so that you aren't put off the first time.
There are a few brands we recommend if you want to drink yerba mate for the first time. These are not extremely bitter, and sometimes even a little sweet:
- CBSé ; This is an Argentinian brand. CBSé's yerbas are often sweet and have fruit or something else as an addition.
- Verde Mate; This is a brand with yerba mate from Brazil. They have many different types, but what is important is that their yerba is air-dried, rather than smoked. This makes it less bitter, and therefore much more accessible for a novice yerba mate drinker.

Can yerba mate help with weight loss?
Sure. Yerba mate helps with weight loss by increasing your metabolism, reducing appetite and giving you the energy for physical activity. Yerba mate also contains antioxidants that can contribute to health and well-being during weight loss.
Does yerba mate contain caffeine?
Yes, yerba mate contains about the same amount of caffeine as coffee. It also contains other stimulants such as theobromine and theophylline, making it very popular among athletes.
How do I store yerba mate?
Yerba mate should be stored in a cool and dry place, preferably in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
Where does your yerba mate come from?
Our yerba mate comes straight from South America, where it has been produced and consumed for centuries.
Can I drink yerba mate while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Given the high caffeine content in yerba mate, we do not recommend drinking yerba mate during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How long does delivery take?
We usually ship an order within 1-2 business days. This means that you will often receive your order after 3 to 4 working days.
Can I track the delivery?
Of course! You will receive an email when your order has been shipped containing the track and trace code. You can also track your order via the chat function at the bottom left of our website.
My order has not yet been delivered after 4 working days :-(
That is of course very annoying. We strive to have all orders delivered within 4 working days, but sometimes things go wrong. In that case, we ask you to contact us via the contact page . Then we can see what's going on.
Can I return my order?
You have the right to return an order up to 14 days after receipt. It is important that accessories are unused in the original packaging and that yerba mate is unopened. Please contact us if you want to return (part of) your order.
