Playadito Traditional is a soft, naturally sweet yerba mate from the heritage-rich Argentinian Cooperativa Liebig. With nearly a century of cooperative expertise behind it, this classic blend delivers an exceptionally balanced profile that is perfect for anyone new to mate or looking for an approachable, calming experience.
What does Playadito Traditional taste like?
Playadito Traditional tastes remarkably sweet and mild for a yerba mate, with clear notes of honey, sugar cane and subtle undertones of sweet tobacco. The flavour profile is soft and naturally gentle, with refined floral nuances reminiscent of green tea, woody tones and a clean finish without sharpness. Despite the soft sweetness it never feels artificial or overly sugary; the flavour comes straight from the plant itself, thanks to traditional processing and a minimum of 12 months of ageing.
About the producer
Playadito is produced by Cooperativa Agrícola de la Colonia Liebig, founded in 1926 by German, Ukrainian and Polish immigrant families in the province of Corrientes, Argentina. The cooperative has since become one of the oldest and most respected yerba mate producers in Argentina, with more than 130 affiliated agricultural producers and an annual output of 36 million kilos of yerba mate.
How do you drink Playadito Traditional?

Canarias Tradicional is Uruguay's best-selling yerba mate and represents the peak of Uruguayan mate excellence, with a powerful, full flavour. This yerba has a finely cut despalada style (without stems) and delivers strong, long-lasting infusions thanks to traditional barbacuá drying and 4-6 months of ageing. Its characteristic powder-rich composition is what produces the explosive flavour and invigorating effect that made Canarias the most dominant mate brand in Uruguay.
What does Canarias Traditional taste like?
Canarias Tradicional tastes powerful and pronounced, earthy and dusty, with notes of roasted nuts and toast balanced by a pleasant sweetness and rich shades of dark chocolate. The aroma is very woody and herbal, with a rich, dark earthiness and fresh notes of hay that together create an aged, fragrant complexity. The flavour offers a strong, bitter and earthy character with a light natural sweetness and a soft, clean, refreshing finish that stays remarkably well balanced despite the intensity.
About the producer
Canarias is produced by CAFES LA VIRGINIA S.A. in Uruguay and manufactured by Baldo S.A. in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with leaves grown in the Brazilian states of Santa Catarina, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. The name Canarias refers to the significant historical emigration of Canary Islanders to Uruguay, who were taken up as "the founding families in the formation of Uruguay".
How do you drink Canarias Traditional?
You prepare Canarias Tradicional the same way as other yerba mate: fill your gourd two thirds with the finely cut despalada yerba, pour in hot water at 70-80°C, place the bombilla and drink. Ideally you drink this through a bombilla with a very fine filter, since the fine, powdery composition can clog traditional bombillas.
The classic expression of Rosamonte: a highly balanced, deep classic Argentinian mate flavour that comes from 12 months of ageing. Powerful without being harsh, complex without being overwhelming — Rosamonte Tradicional is the choice for experienced drinkers who value authentic smoky character and traditional Argentinian culture.
What does Rosamonte Tradicional taste like?
Rosamonte Tradicional has a highly balanced, deep classic Argentinian mate flavour, with a moderately sharp and dusty aroma carrying strong natural notes of dry wood, hay and a lightly sour character. The first impression can surprise newcomers, but once your palate adjusts, this mate reveals soft and sweet opening notes, a light pleasant bitterness, fitting fresh-sour nuances and a smoky, woody character reminiscent of black tea and dough.
About the producer
Rosamonte Tradicional is produced using the barbacuá method, the oldest traditional drying technique for yerba mate, used by the Guaraní people, in which the leaves are exposed to the heat of a wood fire for 12-24 hours — the source of that characteristic smoky flavour. Rosamonte was founded in 1936 by Demetrio Hreñuk and today runs one of the most modern drying facilities in the industry, with an advanced quality laboratory and mechanised production that ensure consistent quality.
How do you drink Rosamonte Tradicional?
Fill your gourd about two thirds to three quarters with Rosamonte Tradicional, tilt it and add lukewarm water down the sloped side. Then add hot water at around 70°C to bring out the deep, balanced flavour at its best. You can count on roughly 15 refills before the mate loses its flavour.

This variety consists of 63% yerba mate, supplemented with poleo, lemon verbena, guaraná extract and natural menthol, and makes for a stimulating drink for anyone looking for an extra energy boost alongside a pleasant flavour. What does CBSE Guarana taste like?

The natural menthol aroma brings freshness and a refreshing character, while the guaraná adds a pronounced flavour alongside the yerba mate base. The herbal base keeps the drink from tasting purely medicinal and preserves a real, enjoyable flavour experience alongside the functional benefits.
About the producer

The calling card of one of Argentina's most trusted yerba mate brands. Taragui Traditional is a perfectly balanced blend of leaves and stems, refined over more than 85 years. Whether you are just starting out with mate or you are a seasoned drinker, this everyday choice delivers authentic Argentinian flavour without unpleasant smoky notes.
What does Taragui Traditional taste like?
Taragui Traditional has a subtle, earthy flavour with hints of sour fruit and a lightly bready character that keeps it interesting. You notice a faint smoky undertone without it taking over; instead, the real star is that classic character of toasted dough and tobacco as it brews, followed by a bitterness reminiscent of absinthe and rye bread crust. It finishes with hints of lemon and butter, giving a simple, balanced flavour that appeals to anyone who prefers a less assertive profile.
About the producer
Taragui is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías in Corrientes, Argentina, a company that has led the yerba mate world since 1924. They were the first Argentinian producer to eliminate PAHs by using air drying instead of smoke, and they hold Rainforest Alliance and FSC certifications for sustainable forest management. The Navajas family is still at the helm, guarding that quality standard across four generations.
How do you prepare Taragui Traditional?
Fill your gourd about three quarters with Taragui Traditional, then tilt it and pour lukewarm water down the tilted side. Add hot water at 70-80°C, let it settle for a moment and then insert your bombilla. Pass it round your circle and refill with hot water as needed. The stems help the leaves pack together well without clogging your bombilla, which makes this beginner-friendly for long mate sessions.

Nature's energy drink, without the synthetic crash. Taragui Energia draws on the strength of a summer harvest, when yerba plants naturally concentrate their caffeine. You get twice as much mateine (the natural caffeine in yerba mate) and up to 30% more xanthines than in regular Taragui, which makes this the ideal choice for athletes and anyone in need of sustained, natural energy.
What does Taragui Energia taste like?
Taragui Energia tastes powerful and pronounced, with a clear earthy character and subtle citrus undertones that balance the intensity nicely. Unlike smoke-dried mates, this air-dried variety is free of heavy smokiness and offers a fresh, agreeable flavour with herbal notes and a mild bitterness — think strong green tea rather than tobacco. The fresh, vegetal character comes through clearly, which keeps this intense yerba feeling clean and approachable despite its raw strength.
About the producer
Taragui Energia is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías, Argentina's largest yerba mate producer. They pioneered air-drying technology (SIN HUMO) to eliminate PAHs while retaining maximum flavour and energy. The summer harvest that makes Energia so distinctive is carefully processed and checked for zero agrochemicals, and meets the strictest EU food safety standards.
